I always knew I wanted to do something big in life and being a business owner was just that! After going to FIDM for visual communications right out of high school I decided to also get her cosmetology license.
While going to cosmetology school I started working as a certified makeup artist for MAC cosmetics in 2007 she worked there for seven years.
When I received my Cosmetology license in 2011 I was blessed with the opportunity do to hair for the Oakland Raiderettes for a season and after that I got to do hair for the Golden State Warriors dance team which was a ultimate dream come true and a great learning experience. Working for both professional NBA and NFL teams taught me so much.
Being in the industry for so many years she I saw a void that needed to be filled. Being mixed with many different ethnicity’s and having curly big hair and being from the Bay Area I noticed there was nowhere me to go in the East Bay that was reasonably priced for a luxury trendy blow out experience everything was in San Francisco, Burlingame, Walnut Creek or Danville but no love was being shown to the East Bay! So with that Bay Blow Bar was born! We had out first location in Stoneridge Mall in Pleasanton then moved to downtown Hayward!
After years of giving blood sweat and tears to this shop and its concept while training girls to work at Bay Blow Bar and elevating their careers while continually elevating mine, it was not giving anything back to me. I felt it was time to focus on me and my individual goals as a artist and business owner so I decided to close the shop. I wanted to break barriers and create a place that was different from any other but with the huge changes to the beauty industry over the recent years I felt it was best to focus on myself and my next big dream! I am super proud of how far I took Bay Blow Bar and I am looking forward to what's next!
I want to thank everyone that supported Bay Blow Bar! It means so much.
